1st Qtr Grading - ~ All A's and 1 B !!!

Sam gets her port out next Friday - Nov. 14th (my birthday) and it will be quite the gift! She is extremely excited about this. Nana is coming in today to help out and visit for the next 10 days. We are so excited. We have not seen my mom (or dad - but he is coming in a couple of weeks w/out her) since the beginning of August! 3 months! That is longer than ever, I think.
Samantha received her report card the other day...all "A's" and one "B" (in reading). We are very proud of her! The Neuro Psych testing done 2 weeks ago show that there is an issue with short term memory along with a few others that I've got to sit down with Kevin and go over b4 I put it in writing...The testing (and tester) also determined that Sam is an "Over Achiever" and if she wasn't, her grades would reflect a lot less than they do. When you consider she was out of school for practically 2 whole years, it is absolutely amazing that she did not get kept back and that she is where she is academically. A friend recently told me that Sam is the strongest, fiestyist kid she knows...I KNOW that all kids battling this disease (and all cancers) have something in them, other that the cancer, something special that makes them fight harder. I'm not sure if it is something they just have, or if it is something they develop along the road...but, man, I know some pretty strong kids. Cancer Kids are like no other, and that is the truth.
To all my fellow cancer mom's & dad's...hold them tight and help them to be and stay strong. They feed off of us and how we are...For those of you with new challenges, know that you are in our prayers. And for those of you who look up to heaven to your child each day and ask them to be with you; keep the faith and know that they live in you (and their siblings) and are with you even though they are not standing next to you or sitting in your lap. And please know that not a day goes by that I don't think of you and the cross you carry.
For those of you that are friends and or family of cancer families...thank you for being there for yours...
We have Never Ending Hope 4 A Cure, and we will do all we can to help find it, we ask you to do your best to try to do the same...

AWESOME!!! What great school grades, congrats, SAM! I think you all are doing a great job transitioning back into the "norm", it's harder than it looks. I love you guys and you always bless my life. I pray that those that are out of treatment STAY out and those still in soon see complete healing. I'm praying with you, my friend.

Love
